its heart-breaking to learn the way Leslie Tripathy is being harassed by theIndian and oriya tabloids and media.leslie seems the only news focus of all these tabloids and channels, everytime one reads the newspaper its all about leslie, she’s newsheadlines.everytime switch on the news channels either leslie features as the breaking news(where the media is hounding her every move)or the next time you see a bunch of wastrels trying to get publicity giving their freaky opinion on leslie.
though its undeniable that the interest of people in getting some information regarding the phenomenal, glamorous, exquisitely beautiful leslie is what people are intersted in ,comparisions are made and even said, ‘never had the media been interested in a celebrity’s life as much they have been in Leslie Tripathy’s life as before in Marillyn Monroe and Princess Diana, now that they are no more, orissa’s leslie fills the void’

insane chief minister naveen patnaik takes way powers from posco officer priyabrata patnaik for protecting and helping leslie tripathy

Former inspector-general of police (IG) Anadi Sahu today demanded a CBI probe into the Biranchi Das murder alleging that the Orissa police were “delaying” action and were being “shackled” by the presence of top bureaucrats in the case.
“The manner in which IAS officer Priyabrata Patnaik was let off by the police commissionerate points an accusing finger at the agency,” said Sahu, a former Lok Sabha MP from Cuttack and an NCP leader.
In his media statement today, the former IG also demanded that the workings of the Buddhia Singh Trust and Bhubaneswar Club be brought under the CBI probe purview.
For now, an investigating team of Orissa police, headed by additional-commissioner of police Y.B. Khurania, is probing into the murder.
Yesterday, senior IAS officer Priyabrata Patnaik was interrogated for two hours at the police commissionerate.
“Previously, he (Priyabrata Patnaik) had denied meeting Raja Acharya. But, in his police statements yesterday, as indicated in the media, he has conceded that he had met Raja through Biranchi for the Leslie Tripathy affair,” said the former IG.
The government today divested the official responsibilities of Patnaik in the wake of allegations that he was involved in the Biranchi murder.
The officer had conceded that he met the gangster “on one or two occasions” at Bhubaneswar Club and admitted that he had “intervened” in the Leslie Tripathy affair. “Why was an IAS officer so concerned about an album actress? This is for the police to investigate,” he added.
Previously, while Raja Acharya, in a television interview, had alleged that Patnaik had “threatened” him, his close aide, Chagala, had named the IAS officer as a “conspirator”.
Patnaik, who is the president of the judo association set up by Biranchi Das, is also a part of the trust meant for wunderkid Buddhia Singh.
Biranchi Das, as secretary of the association, was the managing trustee. In December 2007, Buddhia’s mother, Sukanti Singh, had filed an FIR against Biranchi Das at Bargarh police station (Bhubaneswar) accusing him of misappropriation of trust Funds.
She had alleged that Biranchi had embezzled funds meant for Buddhia. The trust fund reportedly runs into crores of rupees.

Leslie Tripathy, the most searched person on the planet

Kudos to Gawker for first bringing this to our attention. But it really shouldn’t be a shock to followers of pop culture. Britney Spears is getting old. There’s a new girl in town. She’s young. She’s feeding the media scandal after scandal (admittedly minor and tame). And she’s got a $1 billion empire.
Here name is Leslie Tripathy. And she is the new Britney Spears. The most searched person on the planet.Orissa, the cultural and spiritual capital of India.Leslie is the original pop sensation, superstar, princess of Orissa

Leslie Tripathy, the princess of Orissa, the new Helen of Troy

The police have zeroed in on gangster Raja Acharya as the prime suspect in the murder of Biranchi Das, but have failed to nab him despite conducting several raids in the city, Cuttack and Puri.
Police commissioner B.K. Behera said: “We got leads from raids conducted since Sunday night. Every lead is being followed.”
Geetanjali Das, the wife of the slain coach, has filed an FIR at Bargarh police station stating that she had heard her husband plead “Raja please, Raja please”. Geetanjali has also said that she saw Raja visit the judo hall twice earlier.
“We have come to the conclusion that Raja is the one who committed the crime,” the police commissioner said today. He did not rule out the possibility of a police-gangster nexus in helping Raja flee.
“We are trying to trace the unscrupulous officers if there are any,” he added.
Two platoons of police raided the areas around Shishmo Hotel this afternoon following a tip-off. The area was sealed for two hours while the police searched for the suspect in vain.
“We received information that Raja was seen at an Omfed booth near the hotel, but it appears to be a hoax call,” said deputy commissioner of police Amitabh Thakur.
Police sources said they were trying to track the mobile phones from which Raja had sent SMSes to Oriya film and video actress Leslie Tripathy. Inquiry has revealed that Raja used 32 mobile phones for the messages.
Meanwhile, police security has been provided to Leslie and Jubilee Sundarray, an album maker, who has received threat calls from Raja.
Senior bureaucrat and president of the Judo Association Priyabrata Pattnaik rubbished the charges that he had asked Biranchi to interfere in the Raja-Leslie case. “I always asked Biranchi to stop interfering in others’ affairs, but he never listened. I never imagined that such a disaster would happen,” he rued.
The police commissioner conceded that they were also working on other possible angles like the railway scrap deal.
Sub-inspector B.K. Mishra of Mancheswar police station was placed under suspension for his alleged nexus with the scrap racket and for reportedly releasing three trucks of railway scraps after taking bribe. Biranchi provided the police the tip-off regarding the gang. Mishra allegedly disclosed Das’s name to the gang.
Senior city police officers were closeted at a meeting today where the leads were discussed. Later, in the evening, director-general of police G.C. Nanda chaired a review meeting on the law and order situation, which also discussed the murder.
Earlier, in the morning, chief minister Naveen Patnaik, who holds the home portfolio, described the incident as “unfortunate”. Stating that he had spoken to senior officers regarding the matter, Naveen said: “The police are doing their job and trying their best.”
Raids continued in all the districts. A special team constituted for this case met at the commissioner’s office. The team comprises DCP, ACP and selected inspectors.

Leslie Ann Tripathy,tabloids favorite Sweetheart

Marathon kid Budhia’s ex-coach Biranchi Das's murder case sounds like a script of a typical Bollywood potboiler. Movie makers, a movie star, a sports coach, a gangster - all involved in ways that's giving the state police sleepless nights.
But who killed him and why? Initial inquiries point towards the Oriya music industry. The police believe gangster Raja Acharya shot Biranchi on Sunday evening.
The reason: Leslie Tripathi, a popular face in Oriya music albums. Raja had proposed to Leslie but she turned him down. Spurned, Raja began harassing the actress and this led to an altercation between the coach and the gangster.
However, Leslie says she never approached Biranchi for help. He was just another “concerned acquaintance.”
“I remember after I lodged an FIR against Raja, I just got a sympathy phone call from him. That’s all that happened,” she says.
The police also do not rule out another motive. Biranchi was about to expose Raja's mafia links. They are now determined to nail Raja.
"There are at least 35 cases pending against Raja Acharya, due to lack of witnesses he gets free from the jail and commits further crime. But we would not sit idle,” says Bhubaneswar.
Police Commissioner, Binoy Behera.
Meanwhile the state Opposition is blaming Orissa's crumbling law and order.
Leader of Opposition, J B Patnaik says, "The law and order situation has totally failed. The police knowas very well who these criminals are but did not do anything to stop them."
Biranchi's star student Budhia is shattered .
“The coach always wanted to see me on the top. He made me run a lot, so I could make it to the Limca record books. I really feel sorry for his demise. I have no clue about who has shot him. He wanted me to get to the Olympics,” he says.
In last few years, reports of a nexus between the glamour world of the Oriya music album industry and the criminals have been doing the rounds.
But police have not yet made any arrests.

supermodel naomi's fury

ANGRY supermodel Naomi Campbell has claimed she was arrested at Heathrow, after spitting in the face of a police officer, because she was black.Campbell, 37, showed no remorse only hours after she allegedly spat into a cops face and hurled abuse in a furious row over her luggage, reports The Sun. The officer had to undergo a precautionary hepatitis and HIV test. It has since been revealed why Campbell lost the plot moments before boarding. The diva apparently branded her BA flights pilot rude for telling her his plane had to take off on time - even without her bag. It emerged that she had been told the case exceeded her weight allowance and would follow her to Los Angeles on a later jet. After being released by police, the catwalk queen said to a pal: "It just goes to show I have to fight for who I am. It's because I'm black," reports The Sun. Campbell had exploded with rage at Heathrow and was dragged, handcuffed, off a Los Angeles-bound jet. She was arrested and put in a cell before being allowed to phone a lawyer. Then she had a medical check. She later whinged to pals about her treatment. Campbell will have to wait to find out whether police intend to take the matter further.

Naomi spits on cop

Stardom can really go to a celebrity's head. One such celebrity is British supermodel Naomi Campbell, who was arrested for allegedly spitting at a police officer.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, the model, known for her rather hot temper, was later released on bail after being removed from a British Airways flight at London Heathrow.
The paper said the 37-year old, who has a history of abusing assistants and staff, was arrested at the terminal for an assault on a police officer. She was then handcuffed on board a plane and removed her from the flight, the paper said.
This is the latest incident of abuse after the model was ordered to spend a week mopping floors at a New York City warehouse for hitting her maid with a mobile phone.
The model was also charged for beating an assistant while making a film in Canada in 1998. She pleaded guilty in Toronto in 2000 and, under an agreement with prosecutors, was released without punishment or a criminal record.

tibet issue

The Olympic torch relay for this summer's Games has been marred by the actions of pro-Tibet demonstrators. Protests against the Chinese government's crackdown in Tibet look set to escalate as the torch continues on its path toward Beijing.
To successfully carry out the Games--an event of peace--the Chinese government must restart talks with the exiled Tibet government.
The relay started April 1. In London and Paris, exiled Tibetans and human rights activists resorted to disruptive tactics, with some trying to grab the torch and to block the relay run. However, these unruly protests will do little to whip up sympathy for the causes the demonstrators are championing.
The torch relay will move to San Francisco on Wednesday. After passing through several cities in Southeast Asia and elsewhere, the torch's path will come to Nagano on April 26. Every possible measure must be taken to ensure that no unrest occurs as the torch is carried through the Japanese city.
The blame for this disgraceful situation that runs counter to the Games--a sporting event--rests with the Chinese side.

Hu standing firm
U.S. President George W. Bush held talks with his Chinese counterpart, Hu Jintao, last month over the phone. In the conversation, the U.S. president expressed his concern over the Tibet situation and urged Hu to start "substantive dialogue" with Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama.
However, the Chinese president responded by justifying the use of force in the crackdown in Tibet. Hu described the protests in Tibet as undisguised serious and violent crimes.
Tibet is calling for a "high level of autonomy," not independence. Dialogue between the Chinese government and the Tibetan government-in-exile had been held intermittently in the past, but these talks have gone cold since last year.
Demonstrations are continuing in Lhasa and neighboring areas. Failure by the Chinese government to handle this smoldering tinderbox appropriately could end up casting a pall over the Beijing Games.
Leaders of such countries as Brazil, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany and Poland have already said they will stay away from the Aug. 8 opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.
===
Simmering tensions
In China, patriotic nationalistic sentiments are becoming increasingly fervent. An Internet petition decrying recent anti-Beijing Games protests, including pledges not to attend the opening ceremony, collected 2.2 million signatures, mainly among young Chinese.
If these angry sentiments end up morphing into criticism directed toward the Beijing government, the fabric of Chinese society could start fraying.
The Dalai Lama supports Beijing's hosting of the Olympic Games. He also has been quick to speak out against actions to disrupt the torch relay. The Buddhist spiritual leader also has gone to pains to say he was ready to have talks with the Chinese government.
Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda will meet with Hu when the Chinese president makes a state visit to Japan next month. The Japanese government should use Hu's visit as an opportunity to develop proactive diplomacy with China, to help bring stability to Tibet and to ensure the Beijing Games are a shining success
